摘要: Copper-zinc Superoxide dismutase is known to protect pancreatic β-cell function from the damage of alloxan. A morphological investigation copper-zinc prophylaxis against alloxan was undertaken in rats investigate mechanism this protective action. Exogenous reproducibly protected features β cells by as determined light microscopic immunostaining for insulin and ultrastructural examination. By same criteria, α δ appeared unaffected administration a combination superoxide or either agent alone. Autoradiography after injection 125I labelled into normal showed no evidence that enzyme enters viable islet cells, suggesting an extracellular site protection
