摘要: Many cryptic species have recently been discovered in fungi, especially fungal plant pathogens. Cryptic co-occurring sympatry may occupy slightly different ecological niches, for example infecting the same crop but specialized on organs or having phenologies. Identifying pathogens of crops and determining their specialization are therefore crucial disease management. Here, we addressed this question ascomycete Botrytis cinerea, agent gray mold a wide range plants. On grape, B. cinerea causes severe damage is also responsible noble rot used processing sweet wines. We microsatellite genotyping clustering methods to elucidate whether isolates sampled versus symptoms three French regions belong genetically differentiated populations. The inferred population structure matched geography rather than type symptom. Noble do not seem be caused by specific instead depend essentially microclimatic conditions, which has applied consequences production
