摘要: Four samples of Ludox colloidal silica were studied by the light transmission and angular scattering method size particles determined. It was found essential for work to centrifuge original solution in order remove aggregated material. After this treatment each sample regardless age could be used successfully calibration purposes. The apparent particle sizes aqueous solutions smaller than those 0.05 M NaCl solutions, latter being very good agreement with electron microscopic values. refractive index increments water determined at three wavelengths. influence cell length blackening cells measurements also studied. Dissymmetries depolarizations small. All results indicated that behave practically asRayleigh scatterers. usefulness these photometers is discussed.
