摘要: The Th1/Th2 paradigm has provided a useful framework for understanding the observed bias in immune responses that are often dominated by either cell-mediated or humoral responses, and devising therapeutic strategies to stimulate T cell- antibody-mediated immunity. However this is an oversimplification of much more complex immunoregulatory network. Studies with bovine Th cell clones cytokines support viewpoint. This paper highlights progress been made defining type 1 2 cattle. Evidence presented presence different subtypes antigen-specific cattle which constitute spectrum phenotypes, cytokine-mediated regulation differs from mice. majority over 60 parasite coexpress IL-4 IFN-gamma, polarized cytokine profiles were rarely observed. Furthermore, IL-2 IL-10 expression was not restricted IFN-gamma IL-4-producing cells, respectively. lack coordinate "Th1" "Th2" strengthens emerging viewpoint Th1 Th2 per se, do typify response most pathogens. In addition, we provide evidence major regulatory cytokines, IL-4, IL-10, IL-12, selectively exert their negative (IL-4 IL-10) positive (IL-12) effects on Th1-like cells.
