摘要: BACKGROUND Autoimmune diseases are closely associated with cardiovascular (CVD). Over the last decades, comprehension of atherosclerosis, principal initiator CVD, evolved from a lipidcentered disease to predominant inflammatory and immune response-driven displaying features autoimmunity against broad range auto-antigens, including lipoproteins. Among them, high density lipoproteins (HDL) important actors cholesterol transport bear several anti-atherogenic properties, raising growing interest as therapeutic targets decrease atherosclerosis CVD burden, nevertheless rather disappointing results so far. Reflecting HDL composition complexity, autoimmune responses autoantibodies various components have been reported. RESULTS In this review, we addressed complexity humoral towards particularly how response could help improving our understanding biological implication in CVD. We also discussed issues related specific autoantibody subclasses characteristics, etiology, prognosis pathological mechanisms according Rose criteria. CONCLUSION Finally, possible clinical value using these antibodies not only potential biomarkers atherogenesis but factor potentially mitigating benefit HDL-raising therapies.
