摘要: The c-erbB-2 protein in breast cancer tissue extract was determined by using an enzyme-immunoassay (EIA) to see whether the quantitative determination of oncoprotein correlates with results immunohistochemistry and other prognostic factors. Primary from 104 patients assayed for EIA that used two monoclonal antibodies directed against extracellular domain protein. Pelleted homogenate prepared routinely hormone receptor assay as starting material. mean quantity 695 unit/mg (range 23 5939), this correlated well immunohistochemical staining (P < 0.00001). It found 17.3% (18/104) all tumors contained amounts exceeding 1000 units/mg All negative or weakly positive less than content histologic grade = 0.0022), mitotic index 0.0002) degree nuclear atypia 0.013). inversely progesterone 0.006) strongly estrogen status 0.016). Values concentration showed a hyperbolic relationship suggested biological interactions between steroid receptors. We conclude extracts primary can be reliably EIA, it seems feasible explore further advantages introducing routine laboratory examination providing additional information about aspects cancer.
