摘要: Abstract The drug sensitivities of eleven Trypanosoma evansi isolates from China were examined using two different in vitro assays, a 3 H-hypoxanthine incorporation assay and long incubation low inoculation test (LILIT). Better discrimination the susceptibility strains was observed with LILIT. responses all to arsenical melarsoprol very similar. In contrast, for suramin, minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) varied within 27-fold range diminazene 55-fold range. Comparison MIC values expected levels host as well vivo experiments selected drugs indicated that would be sensitive melarsoprol, suramin under conditions. isometamidium, difference between most least isolate 724-fold. Neither tested mice—the resistant second sensitive—was cured highest acceptable dose 10 mg kg −1 isometamidium chloride. our results blood cattle support assumption Chinese T. have more or less innate resistance One equiperdum assay. this highly suramin; regard diminazene, not strains.
