摘要: The practice of feeding raw meat-based diets (RMBD) to dogs has increased in popularity recent years. However, RMBD are based on offal that not undergone any type treatment reduce the microbial content, so there is a risk potential pathogenic microorganisms being present. Frozen samples from 60 packs produced by 10 different manufacturers were analysed for their content bacteria belonging family Enterobacteriaceae, Clostridium perfringens and presence Salmonella Campylobacter. Enterobacteriaceae detected all 31 exceeded level 5000 bacteria/g, which threshold satisfactory hygiene according EU regulations. In two samples, amount C. maximum anaerobic permitted Swedish national guidelines. species found four (7 per cent) Campylobacter three (5 samples. These results show it critical maintain good when storing, handling RMBD, order limit health risks animals humans, especially young immunocompromised individuals.
