摘要: The clinical expression of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is influenced by genetic and environmental factors therefore varies between ethnicities. Information on the epidemiology SLE in Brazil scarce practically limited to studies conducted socioeconomically developed regions (South Southeast). objective this study was describe immunological aspects outcome a cohort patients with treated at university hospital northeastern compare patterns related age onset: childhood (cSLE), adult (aSLE), late (lSLE). A random sample 414 records (women: 93.5%) were reviewed. mean onset disease duration 28.9 ± 10.9 years 10.2 ± 6.6 years, respectively. Most had aSLE (n = 338; 81.6%), followed cSLE (n = 60; 14.5%) lSLE (n = 16; 3.9%). female/male ratio 6.5:1 16.8:1 aSLE; lSLE, all female (p = 0.05). During follow-up, group presented higher rates nephritis (70% vs. 52.9% 12.5%; p = 0.0001) leuko/lymphopenia (61.7% 43.8% 56.2%; p = 0.02). No significant differences found for anti-dsDNA, anti-Sm, antiphospholipid antibodies. Treatment immunosuppressants significantly more common, doses prednisone used, cSLE. prevalence cardiovascular diseases frequent (p = 0.03). three groups regard damage accrual (SDI), remission, mortality. Although leuko/lymphopenia, use than did not differ accrual,
