摘要: The discovery that viruses could function as etiological agents of cancer was first made early in this century (1). Since time a variety oncogenic have been isolated from many different animal species. This brief review will be confined to discussion avian erythroblastosis virus (AEV), retrovirus capable inducing sarcomas and rapidly progressive susceptible chickens (2, 3). AEV is useful prototype for several reasons. First, the tools brought bear, discoveries already study serve excellent examples how contemporary research on retroviruses conducted. Second, one transform fibroblasts; understanding mechanism transformation by may clarify whether related or unique mechanisms. Finally, an elucidation means which transforms two distinct target cell types (erythoblasts fibroblasts (3)) provide insight into manner growth differentiation are controlled both normal neoplastic cells.
