Fabrication of highly homogeneous As2Se3 glass under argon flow

摘要: Abstract The present study relates to a new method for the synthesis of As2Se3 glass in controlled atmosphere. advantage this technique is that it does not require sealing silica reaction container and therefore makes likely substitute current industrial batch by which actually needs very expensive single-use sealed vessels. An experimental device has been developed these purposes. It equipped with stirring mechanism homogenize molten bath. In order avoid contamination oxygen moisture, carried out under argon flow (pressure 1 bar). Material losses during can be reduced less than 2% when temperature progressively increased up 430 °C. Bulk ingots are finally obtained according two-step annealing process. Their chemical composition analyzed EDS shows variation range 0.2%. excellent reproducibility given also confirmed refractive indexes, do differ more 1 · 10−3 from one another. Adverse absorption bands due occur 8–12 μm spectral region 1000 ppm Mg added. As no distilling operation until now, magnesium oxide partially keeps staying leads scattering at short wavelengths.
