摘要: Abstract A method for the propagation of parasitic ciliate Cryptocaryon irritans, with black mollies Poecilia latipinna as host fish, is described. stable infection has been maintained 2 years in this system. Parasites remained on fish at least 3 d before leaving and secreting cysts. divided within cysts to form infective theronts, which began exiting day 4. All theronts left during same time day: 0200–0900 hours. When were exposed that had outside cyst less than 3.5 h, 67.2% parasites could be recovered from fish. The recovery rate was 4% when older 6 h.
