摘要: Abstract The composition of carotenoids from murici fruit ( Byrsonima crassifolia ), a native to North and Northeast regions Brazil, was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography coupled diode array mass spectrometry detectors (HPLC-DAD-MS/MS). Sixteen compounds were found in 13 identified or tentatively identified. major (all- E )-lutein (17.3 ± 1.2 μg/g dry weight) )-zeaxanthin (3.5 ± 0.2 μg/g weight). Xanthophylls the predominant murici, representing 94% (w/w) total carotenoids. carotenoid extract shown be potent scavenger peroxyl radical, being almost times more than α-tocopherol. To best our knowledge, it is first time that detailed description reported.
