摘要: This report describes a retrobulbar rhabdomyosarcoma in 7-year-old male budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus). The bird was presented with orbital distension and exophthalmia of the left eye died during surgery. Necropsy revealed tan to grey mass compressing all components obscured vision. In histopathological examination, composed sheets spindle-shaped cells pleomorphic nuclei, numerous bizarre mitotic figures mononucleated or multinucleated giant also typically strap cells. Neoplastic had no cross-striations sections stained by phosphotungstic acid haematoxylin. tumour did not invade surrounding tissues, including retina, there metastasis other organs. Immunohistochemically, were positive for desmin, vimentin alpha-smooth muscle actin, but negative S-100 protein pancytokeratin.
