摘要: An adult free-living European robin (Erithacus rubecula) with a large, firm, subcutaneous mass on the pectoral muscle was examined. The bird unable to fly and died spontaneously. Necropsy revealed yellowish, bilobate almost completely replacing muscles extensive osteolysis of keel bone. Histopathology poorly demarcated, highly cellular sarcomatous tumour metastases lungs, pulmonary blood vessels heart. Immunohistochemistry negative for neuron-specific enolase, S-100 protein p-27 major capsid avian leukosis viruses. homogeneously positive immunolabelling vimentin scattered positivity myoglobin desmin suggested diagnosis rhabdomyosarcoma. A retrospective examination records 194 birds thrush family, including 64 robins submitted over 20-year period, showed no diagnoses neoplasia.
