摘要: Smooth muscle derived from the inner media and intima of immature guinea pig aorta were grown for up to 8 wk in cell culture. The cells maintained morphology smooth at all phases their growth After growing confluency, they grew multiple overlapping layers. By 4 culture, microfibrils (110 A) appeared within spaces between layers cells. Basement membrane-like material also adjacent Analysis showed that have an amino acid composition similar microfibrillar protein intact elastic fiber. These investigations coupled with radioautographic observations ability aortic synthesize secrete extracellular proteins demonstrate this is a connective tissue synthetic cell.
