摘要: Cobalt is the major component in many orthopedic implants and introduction of a second generation metal on bearing prosthesis systems actualizes toxicity biocompatibility this compound. We studied effect cobalt ions primary cultures human osteoblast-like cells. dissolved cell culture medium caused dose-dependent decrease proliferation osteoblasts measured as ( 3 H)thymidine incorporation. also found that ion-enriched increased production interleukin-6 from Furthermore, incubation with reduced collagen type I osteocalcin manner when 1,25 dihydroxyvitamin-D was added to medium. concentrations below 10 µg/mL or 0.17 mmol/mL had no significant osteoblast function.
