摘要: Protein synthesis in eukaryotes is a complex process which can be regulated at many points the pathway. In recent years it has become clear that both overall rate of translation and relative rates individual proteins controlled post-transcriptionally through changes activities or levels small number key components, such regulation usually takes place level polypeptide chain initiation. A large body evidence indicates essential initiation factor eIF2 frequent target for regulation, its activity often rate-limiting protein synthesis. The phosphorylation smallest (α) subunit widely used mechanism translational control organisms, there are numerous physiologically important situations where eIF2α kinases activated inhibited. This chapter provides review our knowledge concerning mechanisms by reversible phosphorylation.
