摘要: Hypothalamic obesity is an intractable form of syndrome that was initially described in patients with hypothalamic tumours and surgical damage. However, this definition now expanded to include developing after a variety insults, including intracranial infections, infiltrations, trauma, vascular problems hydrocephalus, addition acquired or congenital functional defects central energy homeostasis children the so-called common obesity. The pathogenetic mechanisms underlying are complex multifactorial. Weight gain results from damage ventromedial hypothalamus, which leads, variously, hyperphagia, low-resting metabolic rate; autonomic imbalance; growth hormone-, gonadotropins thyroid-stimulating hormone deficiency; hypomobility; insomnia. did not receive enough attention, as evidenced by rarity studies group patients. A satellite symposium held during European Congress Obesity May 2011, Istanbul, Turkey, discuss recent developments concepts regarding pathophysiology management children. An international leading researchers presented certain aspects problem. This paper summarizes highlights symposium. Understanding role hypothalamus regulation feeding metabolism will help us insights into pathogenesis
