摘要: The incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is increasing worldwide and diverse environmental genetic risk factors are well recognized. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the calpain-10 gene (CAPN-10), which encodes a protein involved secretion action insulin, chronic exposure to inorganic arsenic (iAs) through drinking water have been independently associated with an increase for T2DM. In present work we evaluated if CAPN-10 SNPs iAs jointly contribute outcome Insulin (beta-cell function) insulin sensitivity were indirectly validated indexes (HOMA2) subjects without T2DM who exposed gradient their northern Mexico. results analyzed taking into account presence factor SNP-43 -44 CAPN-10. Subjects had significantly lower beta-cell function sensitivity. An inverse association was found between exposure, being more pronounced carriers at-risk genotype or -44, also function. dependent on age, gender BMI, whereas SNP-44 independent all these factors. Chronic seems be humans reduction function, enhanced effect seen Carriers shown reduced
