摘要: Few studies on the outcome of endoscopic sinus surgery have assessed effect this treatment sense smell. We collected data prospectively 115 patients, before and 6 weeks after surgery. All patients had bilateral chronic rhinosinusitis. Visual analogue a 4-grade, patient-rated symptom score related to olfaction was collected. Patients were also asked whether their smell normal, better, little same, worse or worse. Paired phenylethyl methyl ethyl carbinol olfactory detection thresholds determined for 102 patients. parameters showed statistically significant improvement (P < 0.001). Acoustic rhinometry performed pre- postoperatively in 96 The all scores found correlate with increase nasal volume (Spearman rank correlation: visual score, P 0.005; 4-grade scale, = 0.03; 'better, worse'
