摘要: Pneumococcal conjugate vaccines are highly effective in preventing invasive disease infants and young children, with favorable safety immunogenicity profiles. These pediatric have also shown efficacy reducing cases of non-invasive (i.e. otitis media, pneumonia). Recently, pneumococcal demonstrated additional protective qualities that may enhance their use worldwide. For example, they can reduce nasopharyngeal acquisition vaccine-specific serotypes Streptococcus pneumoniae, which turn the incidence among non-vaccinated individuals; this is termed indirect or herd immunity. Although emergence antibiotic-resistant strains has complicated management, been to protect against caused by such because most included these vaccines. Thus, widespread prevent providing both direct immunity, antibiotics development antibiotic resistance
