摘要: Abstract Purpose Choroiditis, choroidal tubercles, and tuberculomas are well known ocular manifestations of systemic tuberculosis. The present series aimed to report the occurrence serpiginouslike choroiditis presumed tubercular origin. Design Retrospective, noncomparative, interventional case series. Participants Eleven eyes in seven consecutive patients with a diagnosis tuberculosis simulating serpiginous were studied between 1997 2000. Testing intervention All had their fundus photographs taken at time initial presentation as during follow-up. underwent Mantoux skin test chest radiography. In addition, five aqueous or vitreous humor subjected polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for Mycobacterium . Sputum examination, biopsy, both carried out whenever recommended by pulmonologist. Systemic antituberculosis chemotherapy was instituted combination treatment inflammation. Main outcome measure Therapeutic response visual improvement. Results There men two women ranging age from 17 32 years. Clinical presentations included three morphologic variants; multifocal progressive showing wavelike progression confluent, diffuse lesions resembling (three eyes); characterized plaquelike an amoeboid pattern suggestive (four mixed variety where opposite features eyes). strongly positive results radiograph results. PCR four samples ; one sputum acid-fast bacilli, whereas histopathologic evidence cervical parahilar lymph nodes. Treatment associated resolution Final acuity 20/30 better achieved eyes. Conclusions Choroidal may choroiditis. It is important recognize these because show good chemotherapy.
