Association between preterm and low-birth weight with periodontal disease: a case-control study

摘要: Background: Since preterm delivery is an important problem in obstetrics, it necessary to know the risk factors. Periodontal disease infectious and infection factor for delivery. Respecting mechanisms of because involved mediators this procedure are synthesized periodontal disease, gum investigated as Objective: The aim study was determine association between preterm, low birth weight with diseases improve mothers’ children’s health. Materials Methods: This cases-control done on 70 women (mean age 25.01 yrs.) 35 delivery, gestational 37 weeks >2500 gr control group referring Imam Reza Hospital. Mean Probing Depth (MPD), percent sites more than 3 mm probing, bleeding Index (BI), Plaque (PI), Extent Severity (Ext. Sev.) were measured using a mirror standard William's probe. Results: Significant difference found Deep percentage BI, PI, Ext. Sev. indices case groups. There no significant patient’s job, age, education, husband’s job education.
