摘要: Suicide is one of the leading causes death in United States, yet it remains difficult to understand mechanistic provocations and intervene therapeutically. Stress recognized as a frequent precursor suicide. Psychological stress well established cause activation inflammatory response, including causing neuroinflammation, an increase molecules central nervous system (CNS). Neuroinflammation increasingly affecting many aspects CNS functions behaviors. In particular, much evidence demonstrates that markers are elevated traits have been linked suicidal behavior, aggression, impulsivity depression. Lithium significantly reducing anti-inflammatory diminishes depression traits, each which associated with inflammation. The effects lithium result from its inhibition glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK3). GSK3 has demonstrated strongly promote inflammation, aggressive behavior rodents depression-like behaviors rodents, whereas regulation by not investigated. Altogether, building supporting hypothesis activates GSK3, turn promotes inflammation suicide, particularly Further investigation these links may provide clearer understanding leads for development effective preventative interventions, include inhibitors GSK3.
