摘要: A technique for stereotactic radiation therapy of cerebral tumours and arteriovenous malformations using a linear accelerator (6 MV photons) is proposed. Treatment relies on fixation system that permits precise use the coordinates estimated at angiography or computed tomography. The field treatment can be exactly outlined in CT images during repeat examinations, thus facilitating recognition changes induced by radiation. also allows extent malformation, as seen angiography, to accurately traced sections enabling evaluation possible damage surrounding brain structures. precision method well its hypothetical merits disadvantages are discussed. number patients treated still small follow-up time too short majority cases allow definite conclusions. Examples preliminary results given.
