摘要: Abstract The objective was to evaluate the effect of intrauterine infusion prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) on luteal function in cattle. Heifers and cows were randomly assigned after two normal estrous cycles either PGE2 or control treatment groups. Females Treatment A infused with 1 mg once daily into uterine horn ipsilateral corpus luteum between days 7–10 cycle a 0.25 ml plastic semen straw an artificial insemination pipette. B similarly 20 carrier vehicle via catheter 10 11 cycle. Control animals using (Treatment C) D) same Blood samples collected monitor plasma progesterone concentrations during period. returned estrus mean 23.5 (range 22–25 days) similar (P > 0.05) those which days). Animals standing 20.2 17–23 Plasma indicated extended period elevated PGE2-treated compared animals. These results indicate that short term administration early may result maintanance.
