摘要: Abstract Inhibition of glycine entry into pigeon red cells by 33 amino acids, analogues, and derivatives was tested. Only N -methylglycine -ethylglycine inhibited significantly. These were competitive inhibitors with ratios inhibition constants to the Michaelis constant for 1.0 5.2, respectively. Derivatives larger substituents on nitrogen essentially inactive as inhibitors, all l -amino acids tested, two d ( -alanine -leucine), several other analogues. The route is evidently highly specific. An high capacity also observed. This insensitive therefore distinct from route.
