摘要: — We describe a simple approach for the semiautomatic acquisition of data from video recordings movement responses microorganisms. For sessile microorganism like Phycomyces blakesleeanus, we an angle transducer consisting precision rolary potentiometer and transparent ruler. This device is placed in front monitor during playback time-lapse recorder. The experimenter maintains ruler parallel to image upper region bending sporangiophore; voltage proportional directed strip-chart chart provides continuous precise graph as function time, so that latency, rate, other parameters may be readily measured. motile microorganisms, such Euglena gracilis, paths are traced onto acetate sheets playback.
