摘要: A strategy for improved treatment of malignant gliomas grade III-IV is presented. The can briefly be described as surgical removal the bulky tumor, high precision external irradiation small brain volumes over and near primary tumor area with doses from proton beams, thereafter spread cells toxic radionuclides. Proton beams suitable this are under development. clinical effects single on presently tested conventional gamma radiation. Targeting glioma radionuclides tagged to epidermal growth factor, EGF, or EGF-dextran in experimental systems can, future, combination local possibilities combine EGF-guided neutron capture therapy will considered a longer perspective.
