Larvicidal effect of hydroethanolic extract from the leaves of Acmella oleracea L. R. K. Jansen in Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus

摘要: Abstract Mosquitoes, such as Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus, are important vectors of diseases, dengue fever, chikungunya Zika virus, filariasis, these diseases public health problems. The present study was carried out to evaluate the larvicidal activity hydroethanolic extract from leaves Acmella oleracea against 3rd instar larvae Ae. vector Cx. quinquefasciatus filariasis vector. caused significant mortality in quinquefasciatus. After 24 h exposure extract, it possible establish LC50 values for extract: 11.41 ppm 32.40 ppm A. showed very low ecotoxicity suggesting that can be used without causing environmental damage. This is first shows use an alternative synthetic larvicides eliminate easy, cheap safe way.
