摘要: A semi-quantitative cloacal-swab method was used as an indirect measure of caecal colonisation one-day old and five-day chicks after oral dosing with wild-type Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis PT4 genetically defined isogenic derivatives lacking the ability to elaborate flagella or fimbriae. Birds both ages were readily persistently colonised by all strains although there a decline in shedding older birds about 21 days. There no significant differences mutants single-dose experiments. In competition experiments, which dosed orally together, non-motile significantly lower than wild-type. At 35 days post infection, sacrificed direct counts from each caecum determined. Whilst appeared be poor correlation between swab method, overall trends shown these methods assessment indicated that not fimbriae important models.
