摘要: Methyl alpha-D-glucoside and alpha, alpha'-D-trehalose acylated on their primary hydroxyl group by alpha-alkyl-beta-hydroxy acids (mycolic acids) with 18, 32 more than 80 carbon atoms were studied. These cord factors analogues when dispersed in water gave hydrated organized phases which bore resemblances differences to phospholipid liposomes. Phase transition temperature was determined fluorescence for the C32 derivatives differential scanning calorimetry C80 derivatives. A narrow interval between gel fluid states observed, indicating that this a strongly cooperative phenomenon. The activity mitochondria of these diacyl trehaloses studied succinate as substrate. suspensions active rigid ones. There no influence relative configuration mycoloyl residue. Acyl chains had rather similar activities phosphorylation, but appeared considering effects respiration. Electron microscopy suggested factor weakened peripheral part inner membrane, cristae looked unchanged. observations, together results our previous monolayer studies glycolipids, led us propose model interaction mitochondria.
