摘要: We assess the urbanization impacts on heavy rainfall climatology during Indian summer monsoon. While a number of studies have identified impact local precipitation, large-scale assessment has been lacking. This relation between and monsoon changes is investigated by analyzing in situ satellite-based precipitation population datasets. Using long-term daily dataset high-resolution gridded analysis human population, this study showed significantly increasing trend frequency over urban regions India season. Urban experience less occurrences light higher intense compared to nonurban regions. Very extreme events increased trends both rural areas, but areas were larger statistically more significant. Our suggests that there adequate statistical basis conclude observed region likely be where pace faster. Moreover, measurements from satellites also indicate are (less) heavier (lighter) rates those areas. mechanisms causing enhancement remain studied, results provide evidence increase signature urban-induced anomaly.
