摘要: Abstract Malaria is a pernicious infectious disease caused by apicomplexan parasites of the genus Plasmodium. Each year, malaria afflicts over 200 million people, causing considerable morbidity, loss to gross domestic product endemic countries, and more than 420,000 deaths. A central feature virulence ability sporozoite forms injected mosquito navigate from inoculation site in skin through host tissues infect liver. The for sporozoites traverse different cell types very important successful development within mammalian host. Over past decade, our understanding role traversal has become clearer studies with rodent models malaria. However, we still do not understand stepwise process entry exit or know molecular mechanisms governing each step. We even less about parasite species that humans. Here, review current knowledge regarding highlight recent advances prompt new ways thinking this process.
