摘要: BACKGROUND Zinc (Zn) is related to insulin synthesis, storage and secretion. Zn status in patients with Type 1 diabetes significantly lower than healthy controls. Intraportal islet transplantation (IPIT) a radical treatment for diabetes, the success of which depends largely on survival transplanted islets. This study demonstrates impact Zn-rich environment survival. MATERIAL/METHODS Diabetic Wistar rats were syngeneic Rats high-Zn-diet group fed standard pelleted diet containing ZnSO4 at 1000 ppm, whereas those control an ordinary alone (ZnSO4 50 ppm) two weeks prior transplantation. We examined level plasma, blood glucose levels, histological findings, etc., after intraportal RESULTS The showed excellent compared observation days 3, (237.1±120.6 mg/dl vs. 164.2±69.1 mg/dl; p<0.05) 14, (273.7±160.9 179.2±114.3 p<0.05). Early graft failure was found be suppressed day 3 (6.7% 33.3%: As percentage granulated islets, improved (65.1% 41.8%: CONCLUSIONS These results indicated that zinc-rich advantageous recipient harmless humans; thus, we consider supplementation could simple way improve clinical
