摘要: We have previously shown that galectin-4 expression is an independent predictor for lymph node metastasis and serves as adverse prognostic indicator in patients with acinar adenocarcinoma of the lung. In contrast, thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1) non-small cell lung carcinoma has been to be associated a favorable prognosis. present study, 208 cases 36 distant metastatic lesions were immunohistochemically examined TTF-1 elucidate their correlation clinicopathological factors. was observed 145 (69.7%) smaller tumor size, infrequent pleural invasion, lower TNM stage. Galectin-4 86 (41.3%). Furthermore, galectin-4-positive cells TTF-1-positive existed exclusively within same lesion. Expressions factors, respectively. Approximately 40% (15/36 cases) at sites negative TTF-1. Four out five found inverse between expressions adenocarcinoma, this phenomenon also sites. These findings suggest we should not exclude possibility lung, even if are primary unknown tumor, because aggressive adenocarcinomas often lack expression.
