摘要: This chapter discusses toxicologic pathology of respiratory system. The system is vulnerable to injury following airborne or hematogenous exposure toxicants. Susceptibility toxicants because the extensive interface between surface and inspired air, large volume air passing continuously into lung, high concentration noxious agents that can be present in air. via route pulmonary capillary bed. primary functions tract are gas exchange, olfaction, protection against agents. same tissue specialization maximizes performance these also predisposes toxic injury. Exposure occur: (1) occupational settings—such as silica, asbestos, chronic acid fumes; (2) during medical treatment with cytostatic drugs—namely, bleomycin cyclophosphamide—or X-rays; (3) self-inflicted injury—such cigarette smoking, ingestion paraquat, cocaine use; (4) course everyday life—such inhalation common pollutants.
