摘要: Background: Systemic reactions (SR) to subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) are rare but potentially severe. The use of different definitions and classifications hampered comparability between studies. Aims: To determine the frequency SR SCIT with airborne allergens, characterise classify them according WAO 2010 recommendations. Methods: Cross-sectional, retrospective study. Data on patients, were collected from record forms. During study period, 22,332 injections administered (3732 patients). Results: A total 26 (0.1% administrations) recorded in 16 (0.6%) patients (median age 22 years, nine males, all rhinitis asthma). Twenty-one (81%) occurred during induction phase; eight (31%) first hour after administration. According classification, 12 (46%) grade 1 14 (54%) 2. Most 2 asthmatics, presented as mild asthma symptoms resolved without need for medical observation. Only two individuals reactions, both concurrent cutaneous low respiratory symptoms; required observation treatment despite late onset; 82% (n = 12) late. No 3---5 registered only one patient needed adrenaline treatment. risk factors identified this Conclusions: is a safe when by trained staff. classification might be useful retrospectively classifying severity although its usefulness decision needs further research. © 2013 SEICAP.
