摘要: BACKGROUND Working in healthcare is regarded as a risk factor for occupational skin disease. Workers are exposed to disinfectants, soaps, detergents and latex need wash their hands frequently thoroughly. AIMS To investigate the association between work patch test reactions various potential sensitizers population of contact dermatitis patients dermatology medicine units north-eastern Italy. METHODS Patients with suspected allergic underwent testing. Odds ratios (ORs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs), adjusted by age sex, were calculated workers (HCWs), using white-collar control group. RESULTS HCWs represented 14% sample 19088 (68% women, 32% men). Among HCWs, both sexes had higher developing hand/forearm (females: OR 2.1, CI 1.8-2.5; males: 1.6, 1.3-2.1). an increased sensitization formaldehyde (OR 1.65; 1.2-2.3) p-phenylenediamine 1.6; 1.1-2.3). CONCLUSIONS Our study suggests significant work, p-phenylenediamine.
