摘要: Abstract Pilot tests have shown that coir (fibres from Coco nucifera ) is suitable as a metal ion sorbent. Batch sorption experiments were carried out with Zn and Pb to quantify the kinetics, pH dependence of sorption, isotherms at 3.0 5.6, desorption. Unground unmodified was used concentrations ranged between 0 0.015 mM (1000 μg/l) for 9.7 × 10 −4 mM (200 μg/l) Pb. The maximum 4.5 (91%) 2.5 (97%) had higher affinity than Zn, 5.6 3.0. could be represented by Freundlich, but not Langmuir models in concentration range tested. Desorption demonstrated less 1% 13% sorbed respectively, desorbed during 2 h.
