摘要: Reconsidering the function allocation between automation and pilot in flight deck is next step improving aviation safety. The current allocation, based on who does what best, makes poor use of pilot's resources abilities. In some cases it may actually handicap pilots from performing their role. Improving performance first lies defining role --- why a human needed place. allocating functions needs that rather than fitness, then using to target specific weaknesses Examples are provided which could be implemented conventional cockpits now. Along way, definition error idea eliminating/automating will reduce instances challenged.
