Comparasite: a database for comparative study of transcriptomes of parasites defined by full-length cDNAs

摘要: Comparasite is a database for comparative studies of transcriptomes parasites. In this database, each data defined by the full-length cDNAs from various apicomplexan It integrates seven individual databases, Full-Parasites, consisting numerous cDNA clones that we have produced and sequenced: 12 484 sequences Plasmodium falciparum, 11 262 yoelii, 9633 vivax, 1518 berghei, 7400 Toxoplasma gondii, 5921 Cryptosporidium parvum 10 966 tapeworm Echinococcus multilocularis. Putatively counterpart gene groups are clustered analysis any combination six apicomplexa species implemented, such as interspecies comparisons regarding protein motifs (InterPro), predicted subcellular localization signals (PSORT), transmembrane regions (SOSUI) or upstream promoter elements. By specifying keywords other search conditions, retrieves putative containing given feature in common species-specific manner. enabling multi-faceted analyses genes protozoa, monophyletic organisms evolved to diversify parasitize hosts adopting complex life cycles, should help elucidate mechanism behind parasitism.
