摘要: A transgene was inserted at several different chromosomal sites in Drosophila melanogaster, where its expression subject to genomic position effects. Quantitative effects and variegated constant patterned were observed. We investigated the status of affected gene somatic cells it normally functions. The FLP site-specific recombinase used remove from chromosome then evaluated. show that functions have finished their developmental program mitoses. When acts on directly repeated copies target site (FRT), DNA flanked by those FRTs is excised as a closed circle. extrachromosomal circle maintained nondividing cells, located such can be expressed. demonstrate either or effect relieved excision would otherwise inactive. also observed strong inhibition FLP-mediated recombination for near centric heterochromatin.
