Biochemical and pathological studies on the effects of levamisole and chlorambucil on Ehrlich ascites carcinoma-bearing mice.

摘要: Abstract Clinicopathological studies on the effects of combining immunostimulant drugs (levamisole) with anti-cancer (chlorambucil) revealed enhancement latter against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma-bearing mice and resulted in a reduction size tumour. An evaluation liver kidney functions showed significant increase alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate (AST) creatinine all groups. Histopathological one group that received an intraperitoneal injection carcinoma cells (2.5 × 10⁶) hepatic parenchyma degenerative changes. The portal area was oedematous rounded cell aggregations. Cell death within hypertrophied Kupper observed some cells. neoplastic emboli could be seen either inside blood vessels or sinusoids, while another which had been treated orally combination Leukeran(™) (0.2 mg/kg body weight) levamisole (5 massive necrosis proliferative bile duct epithelium. No were without parenchyma, renal cortex presented large number lymphocytes plasma forming bands aggregates, mainly around vessels. It concluded addition to chlorambucil improved effect carcinoma.
