摘要: The long-term expansion and the evolution of town planning a contemporary European metropolis (Athens, Greece) has been analysed in this study order to evaluate how sustainable urban growth taken into account sequential strategic master plans. During last decades, mostly unplanned massive housing construction have favoured slow towards less compact mono-centric spatial asset, typical several Mediterranean cities. Despite efforts guide growth, series structural challenges remained: (i) gap between implementation; (ii) socio-economic planning; (iii) relevant pressure on natural environment; (iv) lack participatory planning. In face these problems, current strategies for city Athens try foster resilience providing guidelines more management built landscape. particular, Resilience Strategy 2030 proposes list actions improve well-being citizens increase sustainability at territorial levels. A major role was given enhancement environmental quality metropolitan area involvement inhabitants various phases decision-making.
