The answers on questionnaire were entered into a database scores extended disability status scale (EDSS), neurologic rating (NRS), ambulation index (AI), mean (MDS) determined from patient's portion using previously validated conversion program. This survey population seemed represent well both frame which it drawn. Patients commonly experienced symptoms for there are treatments currently available such as bladder symptoms, fatigue, spasticity, pain, depression. Surprisingly, however, exception only infrequently treated these complaints. In addition, despite recent approval beta-interferons copolymer I in treatment 74% appropriate candidates had options discussed them 45% ever actually received treatment. Certain clinical features dietary habits strongly associated EDSS total disability. Not unexpectedly, either progressive disease course or presence neurological dysfunction any one number functional areas (e.g. bladder, vision, cognitive change, etc.) correlated higher greater Fatigue also Indeed, fatigue accounted (in whole part) 65% patients; an observation underscores fact that fewer than third who experience have been tried medications. Interestingly, factors lower less exercise alcohol consumption. Such associations single survey, do not establish causation. It is purpose study baseline level function within so future surveys same set individuals can allow prospective assessment how health outcome has influenced different aspects care, lifestyle,
