摘要: Abstract Aim of the study Vitex trifolia L. (Labiatae) is a plant commonly employed against Ciguatera Fish Poisoning (CFP) in Pacific region. Here, anti-inflammatory potential an aqueous extract leaves was evaluated by monitoring its effects on modulation cytokines, mediators inflammation, as well expression profiles inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) which produces free radical (NO). Materials and methods We prepared from potency effect lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced cytokines iNOS mRNA over-production RAW 264.7 macrophages using quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) methods. Results Aqueous showed significant dose- time-dependent inhibitory activity interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6 synthesis, but slight tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, all are involved inflammatory response. Moreover, seemed to induce LPS-dependant IL-10 cytokine. These results were further confirmed ELISA specific antibodies mouse IL-6, TNF-α. Conclusion The could validate utilization traditional remedy CFP emphasises therapeutic value other diseases. Therefore, this promising candidate for screening active compounds through activity-guided fractionation.
