Impact of a dementia-specific program of equine-assisted activities: providers’ perspectives

摘要: Establishing acceptability of complex interventions to stakeholders is vital in early scientific development. The purpose this paper ascertain the a program equine-assisted activities (EAAP) for people with dementia by elucidating programmatic practices needed enhance their safety and quality life (QoL) from perspectives service providers.,Semi-structured interviews five providers were analyzed using basic qualitative approach.,Providers perceived EAAP as acceptable revealed potential mechanisms change supporting well-being, including aspects related physical social environment person dementia. Linkages identified among its context support complexity. Providers explicated that promoted QoL, such implementing staff trainings tailoring each person’s preferences needs. These aligned best care approaches, underscoring promising intervention merits further development.,This work novel adds literature illuminating role community-based, animal-assisted enhancing QoL older adults residing institutional facilities.
