摘要: Results from a first-time employment of the WRF regional climate model to climatological simulations in Europe are presented. The ERA-40 reanalysis (resolution 1°) has been downscaled horizontal resolution 30 and 10 km for period 1961–1990. This setup includes whole North Atlantic domain spectral nudging is used keep large scales consistent with driving reanalysis. results compared against an extensive observational network surface variables complex terrain Norway. comparison shows that able add significant detail representation precipitation 2-m temperature Especially geographical distribution, wet day frequency extreme values highly improved due better orography. Refining further increases skill model, especially case precipitation. Our indicate use 10-km advantageous producing future projections. Use seems be useful reproducing events resolved synoptic scale features over Atlantic, also helps reduce biases study presents high-resolution, high-quality data set reference impact studies.
